Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1. Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. They govern your access to and use of https://vortechs.co.za (the “Site”), and any purchase of goods through it.
1.2. By browsing the Site, registering an account, or placing an order, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Site.
1.3. These Terms may contain clauses that limit Vortechs’ liability, create obligations for you as a customer, or require you to indemnify Vortechs. If anything here is unclear, contact us before placing an order, proceeding with a purchase will be treated as your acceptance of these Terms as written.

3. Who These Terms Apply To
3.1. These Terms apply to anyone who browses, registers on, or purchases through the Site (“you”, “the customer”).
3.2. Where you qualify as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”), nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any right the CPA gives you. Where a clause conflicts with a right you’re entitled to under the CPA, the CPA prevails for that transaction.
3.3. By placing an order, you confirm that you are 18 or older, or that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to place the order.
4. Changes to These Terms
4.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Site applies to any order placed after that update. We recommend checking this page periodically.
5. How a Sale Comes About
5.1. Adding items to your cart and submitting an order is an offer to buy, not a confirmed sale.
5.2. You’ll receive an automatic order acknowledgement by email, this confirms we’ve received your order, not that it’s been accepted.
5.3. A binding sale is only formed once (a) payment has been received in full, and (b) we send a separate confirmation that the order has been accepted. If stock runs out between your order and our confirmation, which can happen when several orders come in close together, we’ll notify you and offer a refund, a substitute item, or a backorder, at your choice. We won’t be liable for any loss arising from this kind of stock timing issue.
6. Pricing
6.1. Prices are listed in South African Rand and, unless stated otherwise, are VAT-inclusive.
6.2. We take reasonable care to keep prices accurate, but mistakes can happen. Where a listed price is obviously and unmistakably wrong, the kind of error a reasonable customer would recognise as a mistake rather than a genuine deal, we may cancel the order and refund any amount paid, rather than honour the incorrect price.
6.3. Prices, specifications, and availability may change without notice and don’t carry forward to orders placed before the change.
7. Payment
7.1. Accepted payment methods: instant EFT, manual EFT with proof of payment, credit/debit card via payment gateway.
7.2. Where payment is made via manual EFT, your order will only be processed once payment reflects in our account, please allow for standard interbank clearing times unless both parties bank with the same institution.
7.3. Where you use a third-party payment provider (e.g. a card gateway or buy-now-pay-later service), your use of that provider is governed by their own terms, which you should read separately. Vortechs is not affiliated with these providers, does not receive your full payment or application details from them, and is not responsible for how they handle your information. Any refund due to you for an order paid this way will be returned via the same provider and is subject to their processing times, which we don’t control.
8. Delivery
8.1. Delivery timeframes shown at checkout are estimates, not guarantees. We’re not liable for delays caused by our courier partners once an order has been handed over to them, or for delays outside our reasonable control (customs, load-shedding, extreme weather, etc.).
8.2. Shipping times differ depending on stock status:
8.2.1. Normal orders, items in stock are typically shipped within 7–10 working days of payment clearing.
8.2.2. Backorders and pre-orders, items ordered ahead of stock arriving, or sourced specially from a supplier, typically take 2–3 months to ship. Where a product page or your order confirmation indicates an item is on backorder or pre-order, this longer timeframe applies instead of the normal order timeframe, and placing that order is your acknowledgement of the extended lead time.
8.2.3. Where an order contains a mix of in-stock and backordered/pre-ordered items, we’ll contact you to confirm whether you’d like the in-stock items shipped immediately or held to ship together with the rest of the order.
8.3. We dispatch once payment has cleared. Orders will be delivered to the address you provide, please double-check it, as additional costs caused by an incomplete or incorrect address will be for your account.
8.4. If you or your appointed representative are not available to receive a delivery, or fail to take delivery after reasonable attempts, we may store the goods and charge reasonable storage costs, or, after notifying you, resell the goods and account to you for any difference.
8.5. Inspect your parcel at the point of delivery where possible. If the packaging looks damaged, note this before signing, or refuse delivery. Signing for a parcel without noting damage may affect a later damage claim.
8.6. Full details on shipping costs, delivery areas, and delivery methods are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Products
9.1. Product photos are for illustration only, actual packaging, bundled accessories, or minor cosmetic details may differ from what’s shown.
9.2. Stock levels are updated regularly but are not guaranteed accurate at all times. Where an item you’ve ordered turns out to be unavailable, we’ll contact you with options before proceeding.
10. Returns and Cancellations
10.1. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the CPA.
10.2. Within 14 days of purchase:
10.2.1. Items returned unopened, unused, and in their original packaging qualify for a full refund.
10.2.2. Items returned opened qualify for a partial refund, subject to a 15% restocking fee, provided the item is otherwise complete and in resaleable condition with all original packaging and accessories.
10.3. After 14 days: change-of-mind returns are no longer accepted. If a fault develops after this point, it’s handled under the product’s manufacturer or Vortechs warranty rather than as a return, see Section 11 for how warranty claims, repairs, and replacements work.
10.4. To start a return, email info@mail.vortechs.co.za with your order number and details of the item. We’ll confirm the return process, please don’t send anything back without this confirmation, as unarranged returns may be refused at our premises.
10.5. Unless the return is due to our error or a fault covered by warranty, return shipping is at your cost, and the goods remain at your risk until we receive them, we’d recommend insuring higher-value returns in transit.
10.6. Refunds for accepted returns are processed within 14 business days of us receiving and inspecting the item, less the restocking fee where applicable.
10.7. The following are excluded from change-of-mind returns entirely, whether opened or not, unless faulty: opened software or digital licence keys, opened consumables (e.g. thermal paste), and any item marked as final sale.
10.8. Cancelling a standard (non-custom) order after it’s been confirmed but before dispatch may incur a cancellation fee of up to 15% to cover payment processing costs already incurred. Cancelling after dispatch is treated as a return under this section.
10.9. For custom-built PCs assembled to your specification, cancellation after build has started may incur a deduction for parts already committed and labour, communicated to you before we proceed.
10.10. Where a component was sold as part of a discounted bundle, a valid refund or replacement under warranty or the CPA will be based on the price actually paid within that bundle, not the component’s individual retail price.
11. Warranty
11.1. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the CPA, including the implied warranty against defects.
11.2. Most products carry the manufacturer’s own warranty; terms and duration vary by brand and are listed on the product page where available. We’ll help facilitate manufacturer warranty claims, but the manufacturer’s process and turnaround times ultimately apply.
11.3. Laptops and monitors are covered solely by the manufacturer’s warranty; claims for these must go be sent back to the supplier/manufacturer directly.
11.4. Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect installation, power surges/lightning, or normal wear and tear.
11.5. Because certain hardware failures are commonly self-inflicted during installation, the following are treated as physical/customer-induced damage and are not covered under warranty: bent CPU socket pins, visible chips, burns, or scratches on a motherboard, thermal paste inside a CPU socket, and stripped or gouged screw mounts from over-tightening. Please take care during installation, or ask us for guidance if you’re unsure.
11.6. If a fault develops, notify us in writing within 7 days of discovering it, with a description of the issue. Delayed reporting may make it harder to establish whether the fault existed at delivery.
11.7. Software, licence keys, and digital products are not covered by any hardware warranty.
11.8. Warranties provided by Vortechs apply within South Africa only, unless a manufacturer explicitly extends international coverage.
12. Accounts and Acceptable Use
12.1. Keep your account login details confidential, you’re responsible for activity under your account.
12.2. You agree not to use the Site unlawfully, attempt unauthorised access to our systems, interfere with the Site’s operation (including scraping, bots, or automated data extraction of our pricing or stock listings), or submit false information when ordering.
12.3. We may suspend or terminate access for any breach of these Terms, without prejudice to any order already placed and paid for.

14.2. To the extent permitted by law, Vortechs won’t be liable for indirect or consequential loss (including lost profits, data, or business opportunity) arising from your use of the Site or a purchase.
14.3. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or rights you hold under the CPA.
14.4. Our total liability in connection with any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Vortechs, its staff, and agents against claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Site.
16. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites or make use of third-party services (couriers, payment gateways). We don’t control and aren’t responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
17. Privacy and Use of Your Information
17.1. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
17.2. What we collect: name, contact details, delivery address, and order/payment-related information, collected when you register, order, or contact us.
17.3. What we use it for: processing and delivering your order, customer support, and, only if you’ve opted in, sending you marketing communications. Order-related emails are not marketing and can’t be opted out of while an order is active.
17.4. Sharing: we don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with parties who need it to fulfil your order (e.g. couriers, payment processors), or where required by law.
17.5. Security: we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access, or misuse.
17.6. Your rights: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting info@mail.vortechs.co.za, subject to information we’re legally required to retain (e.g. for tax records).

17.8. Complaints: if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (https://inforegulator.org.za).
18. Force Majeure
We won’t be liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, civil unrest, power/utility interruptions, or supplier failures. We’ll let you know as soon as reasonably possible if this affects your order.
19. Complaints
If you have a complaint about a product or our service, please email info@mail.vortechs.co.za and we’ll do our best to resolve it promptly.
20. General
20.1. If any clause in these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
20.2. Our failure to enforce a right under these Terms at any point doesn’t waive that right.
20.3. These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Vortechs regarding use of the Site, replacing any prior understanding on the same subject.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts for any dispute arising from them.
